Project Overview

Pyramid Engineering provided services to Judy Coutts, AIA in the design for the new PSU Altoona Advisory Suite. The space is styled as an “Urban Penthouse” emphasizing Altoona city views from the large windows of the space and capitalizing on the abundant natural light. The suite is designed to be flexible and adaptable for various functions such as game day events, cocktail parties and dinner parties. The facility is located on the 5th floor of the Devorris Downtown Center on Penn State Altoona’s new downtown Altoona campus.

New energy efficient lighting systems were installed in the altered space with automatic controls. The existing fire alarm system was extended to the altered space meeting current ADA standards. HVAC is provided by roof top air cooled condensing units and interior air handling units. A new plumbing system was designed meeting current codes and ADA standards. New fixtures and water coolers were provided. A new domestic water distribution and sanitary piping system was installed and connected to the building main piping systems. A fire protection system was also designed and installed in the space and extended to the main building system.
