Project Overview
The Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence is part of Penn State Altoona’s developing downtown Altoona campus. The building is a complete renovation of a prior clothing store. The facility consists of classrooms, a state of the art trading room with electronic stock ticker, business incubator space for students, teleconferencing, conference and trade show spaces.
The HVAC system consists of gas-fired roof-top units with direct expansion coils providing heating and cooling. A direct digital control system controls the entire building. The plumbing systems consist of new domestic water distribution and sanitary piping. New fixtures and water coolers have also been installed. A fire protection system was also designed and installed in the facility.
The lighting system consisted of high efficiency fixtures with electronic T-8 ballasts. Automatic lighting controls were provided throughout the building. A new electrical service and distribution was provided. Multilevel switching was provided to suit the various needs of the classroom environment. New fire alarm, security and structured cabling systems were also included.
